Journalists, communications specialists, and even business majors are finding it necessary to attend classes at some sort of web design school in order to compete in the job market and industrial markets, alike.
These changes are taking place on a grand scale, as an overhead look at the nation’s institution shows an always-dynamic curriculum that responds to the needs of industry. Web design schools are definitely not immune in light of the ever-growing trend to take businesses and information online.
It is becoming taboo to avoid the internet these days. In short, if you aren’t online you aren’t there. This could be a reason for the reinforcement of web design schools in the country, but it is not a trend limited to major universities and technical schools.
A good example is a community college in New Jersey with several locations throughout the state. The Middlesex County College is tightening up the curriculum and adding 5 new classes in web design at the school to include Graphics, Typography, Animation and Interactive Media, Website Design and Layout, and Portfolio.
These key elements in a web design school are the critical and pivotal foundations of the discipline. This institution and many other web design schools like it are preparing students to become a web designer, but other disciplines benefit from the core classes offered in this type of program.
Nadine Heller, chairperson of the Department of Visual, Performing and Media Arts at Middlesex County College recently acknowledged the future of this type of education in a college publication.
“This is a field with a future; the web is growing every day and those who have the skills, both technical and artistic, will be ready to face that future and get those jobs,” Heller stated.
